finally got php5 going...just in time

So, I admit that I have been a bit lazy to install php5 and get things running. But today I had no choice, two people were trying to install rdBloggery on php5. They found that the layout was not being rendered. I am working on a fix now.

But in the meantime, I tought I would point any php4 users on OSX to a nice little thread over at our favorite entropy.ch.
here it is

A very nice person created a little script for terminal to all us to quickly switch between apache configs, one loads php4 module the other loads php5. All, I have to do now is do # setphp php5 and it reconfigures apache and restarts the server. Talk about saving me some major dual apache instance issues, not to mention install time was all of 2 minutes.

I think from now on, I will do most of development in php5 then switch back to php4 if I need to test before uploading to the ole php4 servers. Next step for me is to get a php5 production server. I know, I should already have one, but php4 has been good to me.

1. Peter Lux :: on Feb 10, 2006 The layout problem does seem to be PHP 5 related. I tried a new install on a shared hosting service running PHP4.3 with no problems.

The same install on my server running PHP 5 doesn't render although I haven't successfully found the problem yet.

Hat's off to a nice lightweight app combined with a very nice layout.
