In 1996
In 1996, life was pretty good. That year, my older brother lived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and I spent my college winter break riding steep and deep. In fact, I almost drowned in snow that trip, falling head first in powder so deep that I couldn't push myself back out. Under the six feet of powder, I quickly started packing snow together in an effort to create something solid to push out of. Once I was able to come up for air, I literally coughed out a snowball.
As we all know by now, 1996 was also the year that Flash was born and what a ride that's been. Just as steep, some years deeper than others. In commemoration I've posted a few old projects circa 2000. (I've got a few from '99, but they'll remain hidden until the 20 year anniversary.)
This is the last week of voting for the most influential flash piece of the decade. My vote went to Yugop. Anyone remember the Mona Lisa?
