Newest site goes live and another proof of concept

We have been working hard over here finishing up the site for the National Glaucoma Society (NGS). The first phase of the site has launched at http://nationalglaucomasociety.org This site was built with CakePHP (of course) and will be a community dedicated to information about glaucoma for both clinicians and patients. Clinicians can become members of the society and get instant access after completing the payment process. For this site we connected to the CyberSource payment gateway used by Bank of America.

To keep our minds fresh through the process of launching NGS, we decided to do some more work with Flash and CakePHP. So, we put together a little uploader, here Flash 8 has the great feature of allowing us access to the local file system. We are pretty sure that after expanding this uploader a little it will quickly make it into every app we build. Uploading through Flash is much nicer than the standard browser interface. The proof of concept that we did for this uses the rdImage Component from rdBloggery to resize the images and put them into the server file system.

Happy baking.

Quite informative and with a clean layout.

Just a question: What happened to the rss feeds ?
This link:
http://new.nationalglaucomasociety.org/articles/rss
Gives a "404" error.

yes, it allows the uploading of multiple files.
I have written a simple flash 8 image manager for one of my clients sites (cakePHP based :) ) and the multiple upload is a great feature.
9. olivier :: on Mar 23, 2006 Hi Gwoo

Does the flash 8 plugin have also the ability to handle the selection of multiple files ?
